Hello cousins, I am Linda Holzbaur; my home has been in Ithaca NY in the US since 1988.

My paternal grandmother was Rebecca Stewart McCandless, born in August 1894 at Straths Bridge near Carndonagh, Donegal to Andrew McCandless and his wife Isabella Stewart. She and several of her sisters immigrated to England, Scotland and the US. My grandmother and three of her sisters settled in Philadelphia, Pa in the 1920s.

Their brothers stayed in Carn, never married and left no descendants.
I have been searching for the history of the McCandlesses (and Stewarts).
